Cubs (3-2) v. Brewers (2-3)

Last night was extremely unfortunate.  However, the Brewers were lucky to be in that position to begin with, because of the magic tricks they pulled in the 6th and 7th somehow getting out of each inning only giving up 1 run each.  That said, we were two outs away from winning and unfortunately Villy couldn’t do it.  The offense performed better, especially considering it was against Zambrano for 6 innings.  It was nice to see JJ get off the snide with the big 2RBI base knock and Prince crush his first HR of the year.  Hopefully we can come through today and still take the series.  That said, here is your game preview:

In the series finally tonight on ESPN Sunday night baseball, the Brewers will face Ryan Demptser.  Dempster is a real interesting character.  Basically, he had been a closer his whole career, then last year (when the Cubs were thinner in pitching) the Cubs gave him a shot in the rotation because they had no one else.  He went out and had a career year last year going 17-6 with a 2.96ERA.  In return the Cubs gave him a 4 year $52 million dollar contract.  Nice.  In his first start this year, he went 6 innings, gave up 2 runs and got a no-decision against the Astros.  Let’s hope the Brewers can get to him a little better than this.  For the Crew, it’s my favorite $12.5 million dollar man.  I have decided to set no expectations every time Suppan takes the mounds this year.  It will make the defeats less painful and the victories more enjoyable.  However, I am choosing to look at today as it can’t be any worse than opening day against the Giants.  Can it?? Let’s find out………
