Sorry for getting this post up so late in the day. Yesterday’s game was definitely disappointing for the Brewers. Braden Looper had his worst start as a Brewer. The Crew fought back to tie (should have taken the lead) only to watch Looper again give the Reds the lead. Nonetheless, I’ll take a winning road trip anytime. Now it is back to Miller Park to face our hated rivals the Cubs. Here is a preview:
Carlos Zambrano should be starting for the Cubs tonight, but is on the DL due to a hamstring injury. Zambrano pulled his hammy running to first when he tried to surprise the defense by laying down a bunt……….classic. The Cubs called up Randy Wells from AAA to make the start today. This will be Wells first career major league start and his 5th overall appearance in the big leagues. The Brewers will counter with Dave Bush. Bush only has one decision in his first 5 starts (1-0), but the Brewers are 3-2 in those starts. His last time out against the Diamondbacks Bush threw 6 innings of two hit ball, but then gave up 3 solo home runs in the 7th. The Brewers offense bailed him out and did win the game. Overall, Bush has thrown the ball really well this year. It would be great to see him continue his string of good starts, especially after Looper only went 3 1/3 innings yesterday. So let’s see what happens. I mean…Danny Gokey is singing the National Anthem. That has to be a good sign…right?? Go Brewers!!
